First Photos with the new Digital Camera.
Photo Fun

I have purchased a new camera.  It's an Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom.  The Camera's main features are 4 Megapixels with a combined zoom of 40X!!  I was looking for a camera with a higher Zoom and more
Pixels.  I have had my eye on this camera for a few months. The price from a Brooklyn, NY supplier dropped to $349, which is an amazing price.  When I first started looking at the camera the price was around $550 - $600.  I was going to buy it at $450 until this price appeared.

I purchased it from Digital Liquidators.  Their web address:

No need for Thumbs

We're going to play around with different resolutions and zooms with this page.  The first couple of photos were taken with the default resolution of High Quality 2288x1712.  The file size ended up being 775K.  I then resized the image to 1:3 and gave it 15% compression.  After doing this, the web size ended up being about 75K.

Now to the other extreme.  The next SIX photos were taken at 10X Optical Zoom and Super-High Quality mode of 3200x2400. The file sizes ended up between 3400K and 4300K. After reducing the size by 1:3 with 15% compression these images ended up between 70K and 130K. You'll notice that extra care is needed to keep the camera motionless when taking photos at this Zoom level.

With the next two photos, I'm playing around with the different Zoom levels with the Super-High Quality mode of 3200x2400.  These were also reduced by 1/3rd and 15% compression

You can go to to this page to see the result of 1:2 size and 15% compression.  These images ended up 110-210K

You can go to this page to view the ORIGINAL uncompressed photo below in 1:1 size.
